The Gladstone region has featured on one of the most watched real estate shows in America.
House Hunters International recently aired an episode which focused on long-time, long-distance couple Cassie Wardlow and Karl Muller, looking to settle down in Karl’s hometown of Gladstone.
According to the episode’s synopsis, the couple agreed on buying over renting, but giving up California had Cassie wanting to settle down near Boyne Island and Tannum Sands while Karl’s budget was pushing them more inland.
Locations Estate Agent principal Alicia Williams made an appearance on the show as the couple’s real estate agent.
“How that came about a lady in our office, Cassie, she’s from California and obviously loves that particular show,” she said.
“She had nominated her and her fiancé to go on the show, and picked us to be the agent as we worked together.
“We had so much fun, it was a good time.”
Ms Williams said the episode was filmed earlier this year, and she had spent an entire weekend taking the couple to key locations across the region.
“We were giving each other a bit of banter,” she said.
“You tell a bit of a story, I think I said to Karl ‘I would love you to spend more money’ at one point.
“It sounds absolutely terrible coming for a real estate agent but knowing Cassie and Karl, it was just banter to make it less awkward.”
Ms Williams said it was good to put Gladstone on the map for something other than industry.
“It was great to showcase Gladstone from a fun-perspective and a property perspective,” she said.
“It’s great publicity for Gladstone, and for our agency.”
“The episode recently aired in the US however for those wanting to watch it, an Australian air date is yet to be released.
“We were notified last week it had aired in America, which was really exciting,” she said.
“It is all thanks to Cassie, we’ve all been itching to see it for a long time.”
It is not the first time the Gladstone region has been showcased on the show, with Agnes Water appearing on an episode of House Hunters in 2017,
