In this shot taken at Millennium Park early in the morning, a Bar-shouldered Dove pauses briefly near the beach!

The Bar-shouldered Dove is a medium-sized, long-tailed dove. They are found in humid and well wooded areas as well as in mangrove regions along the coast.

They also frequent urban areas where there is plenty of grass and low shrubs.

Their diet consists mostly of grass seeds while the shrubs and trees provide them with protection and places to raise their young.
